Question Answer
Accommodation
  1 z How many guests can stay at any one time? We are permitted to have 150 overnight guests and 100 visitors on the island, but the number is usually much less.
  2 z How long is the average stay on the island? The length of stay varies between different people, however we recommend at least three days to experience Lady Elliot. Our stay 5 pay 4 night offer is particularly popular.
  3 z Will we have the room to ourselves or will we be sharing with others? All accommodation is on a sole share basis so you will have your own room, including the bunk style rooms. The exception to this is visitors on our Coral Reef and Cool Dingo Package who are accommodated in a share room.
  4 z Is linen provided in the Eco-Cabins? All linen is supplied and changed regularly.
  5 z Where can I stay in Hervey Bay or Bundaberg before or after my visit to Lady Elliot Island? Please refer to the local accommodation directories for these regions.
  6 z Is it possible for me to extend my check out time? It may be possible for you to extend your check out time. This will depend on the forward bookings for your room. Please check with reception on the island the afternoon before departure.
Bringing Children
  1 z Can I get baby sitting? Yes, arrangements can be made for a babysitter subject to staff availability. Cost is $20 per hour for up to 2 children. Please advise at time of booking.
  2 z What activities are there for children? Aside from the water based activities children can enjoy our playground, sports gear for soccer, volleyball, mini-golf, table tennis, video and reading room. During QLD and NSW school holidays our Reef Rangers Club will entertain the children for much of the day.
  3 z What’s the age range for children wanting to participate in the Reef Rangers club? Children are required to be between the ages of 5 – 12 years.
  4 z Do you have children’s reef shoes for hire? Yes we do have reef shoes in children’s sizes, however as there are limited numbers it would be advisable to bring some with you instead.
Communication on the island
  1 z Can I use my Mobile Phone on Lady Elliot? There is no mobile phone reception on the island (this is one of our draw cards!). A public phone is available and phone cards can be purchased from reception.
  2 z Is there access to the internet / Fax facilities? There is a wireless internet hotspot for which you can purchase time from reception. A fax is available on request.
Diving
  1 z Can I dive when I am on a daytrip? You are not permitted to fly and dive in the same day for safety reasons. Divers must stay on the island for at least one night.
  2 z Are all dives accompanied by Lady Elliot dive staff? Yes, a Dive staff member will lead and supervise all dives conducted around the island.
  3 z How much does it cost to dive? How much is it to rent equipment? Please refer to our Dive page – click here
  4 z Can I bring my own dive gear? You are able to bring your own dive gear, but remember there is a 10kg weight limit per person on luggage on your flights.
  5 z When bookings include a dive lesson, will there be extra costs for hiring dive equipment? No. All dive equipment is included in the price of the lesson.
Flights
  1 z How big are the planes? Lady Elliot’s own air service Seair Pacific operates a fleet of 9, 13 and 18 Seat aircraft. The size of your aircraft will depend on passenger numbers travelling for that particular day.
  2 z How long will it take to get to the island from my departure point? From Hervey Bay and Bundaberg flight time is generally 35 minutes. From The Gold Coast 90min from Brisbane 60min, from Maroochydore 50min. On some occasions the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Maroochydore flights may stop at another airport on route which will add a small amount of time to the trip.
Food and Drinks
  1 z What options do I have for lunch? A buffet lunch is available in the dining room and the Beachfront Café offers a variety of light meals and snacks for purchase.
  2 z I have dietary requirements, are you able to cater for me? Yes, our kitchen is able to cater to most dietary requirements, please advise upon booking.
  3 z Can we bring our own alcohol? Lady Elliot Island is fully licensed and alcohol cannot be brought in from the mainland.
  4 z Is the tap water suitable for drinking on Lady Elliot Island? Yes our desalinated water is suitable to drink straight from the tap. Bottled water is also available for purchase.
  5 z Does the package I have include lunch?

No lunch is not included in the packages.  Occaisionally a dive package will include lunch, and in this case  it will be clearly stated in the package details

  6 z Is there anywhere I am able to buy groceries on the island? No general groceries are sold on the island. There is a small store on the island which stocks bottled soft drinks, water, ice cream and chips.  Other holiday items such as a small selection of batteries, single-use underwater cameras, T-shirts,hats, sarongs, toys, momentoes etc, as well as a basic selection of chemist items.
  7 z Will I have access to cooking facilities?

Island Suiites  are equipped with microwave, small fridge and tea & coffee making facilities.  Reef Units come with small fridge and tea & coffee making facilities.  Shearwater Rooms and Eco Huts have a communal area that has a small fridge and tea & coffee making facilities. 

General
  1 z Are there stingers around Lady Elliot? Unlike islands further north, Lady Elliot Island is not affected by the stinger season and it is safe to swim all year round.
  2 z What is the best time of the year to visit Lady Elliot Island? Lady Elliot is a wonderful holiday destination all year round. Please refer to our nature’s calendar and weather charts to check on key events and the most suitable time for your visit.
  3 z Is there a pensioner or family discount? We do not offer a pensioner or family discount however refer to our packages page for special deals.
  4 z I am having a birthday on Lady Elliot, will I be able to arrange a cake? Yes, please advise during booking and we can provide a cake for your special occasion at a small cost.
  5 z Is Lady Elliot wheelchair accessible? As most of the islands walkways consist of crushed coral, wheelchair access is limited. Facilities also have limited wheelchair access, please contact reservations in regard to your special needs.
  6 z Are there extra costs for boat trips or tours on the island? 1 combined Glass Bottom Boat/Boat snorkel trip is included in your accommodation rate. Extra trips are available at $20 for adults and $12 for children per trip.
  7 z Are we still able to enjoy your range of complimentary activities after our 10am check out time?

You are welcome to participate in all the usual activities and facilities available on the island bearing in mind that you will need to congregate at the departure point 15 minutes prior to take-off.

How to get there
  1 z Is there a ferry/boat service to Lady Elliot? The only access to Lady Elliot is by aircraft with Seair Pacific. The island is situated 122klms north east of Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast). This would involve a lengthy journey by sea and the island has no docking facilities for large boats. The short scenic flight to Lady Elliot is a spectacular start to your holiday!
  2 z How do I book my flights to the island? Flights are booked with your accommodation as this is the only form of transport to the island.
  3 z How much time should I leave between connecting flights? To be safe we advise you leave at least one hour between connecting flights between Seair and other carriers.
  4 z Where is the airport located? How do I get there? Please refer to our island access page. click here
  5 z Can I fly my own plane to Lady Elliot Island? Only Seair Pacific is allowed access to Lady Elliot Island’s private airstrip due to insurance requirements.
  6 z Do you provide airport transfers from my accommodation in Hervey bay / Bundaberg? Please make your own way to and from the airport. Please contact the Wide Bay Shuttle service on 1800 333 532.
  7 z How far in advance do I need to book? We will take your reservation at any time subject to availability. During peak times and holiday periods we advise you to book as early as possible.
  8 z Where do I park my car in Hervey Bay / Bundaberg? Secure parking facilities are located at both of these airports. Contact numbers for information: Hervey Bay (07) 4125 5229, Bundaberg (07) 4152 2322
Luggage
  1 z Does the 10kg weight limit on flights include hand luggage? Additional light hand luggage is permitted to be taken on board at the discretion of the pilot.
  2 z Does the 10kg weight limit apply to children & infants? Yes, all passengers are entitled to the 10kg luggage allowance.
  3 z What happens if I have more than 10kg? This will depend on the total weight load of the individual flight. We may carry the excess luggage on your flight, or it may be transported on the next available flight. This may not be on the same day. Please remember that this will also be the case on your return journey. Excess luggage costs are $2 per kilo each way.
  4 z Can you store my excess luggage at my departure point? When flying from the Gold Coast, Hervey Bay or Bundaberg we are able to look after your excess luggage for the duration of your stay on Lady Elliot.
Payments
  1 z When do I pay? A deposit is required within 3 days of making a booking and the balance is required 1 month prior to your stay. For bookings less than 1 month prior, payment is required upon booking. Payment is accepted via Credit Card or direct deposit. AMEX and Diners incur a 3% surcharge. Bank details for direct deposit are available from reservations staff.
  2 z How do I pay for extras while on Lady Elliot? A house account will be set up at your check-in with a credit card imprint. This card may be used at the bar, restaurant, resort shop and for activities such as diving. This account can be settled at check out using Credit Cards, Cash or EFTPOS. AMEX and Diners incur a 3% surcharge and there are no cash withdrawals.
What To Bring
  1 z What do I bring on a day trip to Lady Elliot? Simply bring along your swimwear, camera, sun cream and some footwear suitable for getting wet. Some small change for souvenirs or an underwater camera is also useful.
  2 z Do we need to bring our own beach towels? You are welcome to bring your own towels. We will provide you with bath towels as requested.
  3 z Can I bring my fishing gear? As Lady Elliot is situated within a Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Green Zone, fishing is not permitted from any part of the island or its surrounding waters.
