Earth Hour 2010

Welcome to . . .

EARTH HOUR

Lady Elliot style !

On March 31st 2007, Australia had its first Earth Hour with more than
2 million Sydney businesses and households turning off their lights for one hour – Earth Hour – sending a powerful national and global message that it’s possible to take action on climate change.

At 8:30pm on 27th March 2010, Earth Hour once again goes global, with cities and towns around the world taking a stand on the greatest threat our planet has ever faced, and millions of people uniting to turn the tide on climate change.

Here on Lady Elliot we are not only turning off our lights for the hour, we are in fact turning off . . .ALL power on the island!

Being a self contained community powered by solar power, we can stop all energy usage and experience a coral cay in an entirely natural perspective.

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to enjoy the serenity and beauty of our coral cay in its moonlit splendor by taking part in our special program of events!

If you are back on the mainland at this time, please take part in your own home – for information go to www.earthhour.org

Help save the reef, Protect, Conserve, Preserve the Great Barrier for Future Generations
