What more can I say other than that the conditions have been dream-like at the moment.

Guests opened their front curtains this morning to a mind blowing sunrise with unimaginable colours consuming the whole sky. The lagoon looked like a postcard with the beautiful turquoise water barely even rippling in the light breeze. It was a great morning to sit on the front veranda with a newspaper and a cup of tea before getting involved in the day’s activities.

Conditions were once again premium for snorkeling out at second reef. Green turtles kept popping up everywhere. They were particularly interactive today circling around guests and generally acting interested in people keeping everybody more than happy. One guest said that she stayed with one turtle for over 15 minutes, and for a while it seemed like it was her snorkeling buddy just taking in the beauty of the reef.

The thing that had everybody talking today was the afternoon dive at the blowhole on the western side of the island. The current was ripping through the area meaning little to no swimming was required.  Above all the marine life was absolutely off the planet.  A giant Queensland groper dwarfed divers and surprised staff as to the size these fish can get. Some guests said it even looked like a monster owing to its oversized face and effortless swimming motion.  A marble ray was actively swimming against the current astounding everybody with its grace and beauty. The divers then came around to Hiro’s cave, a spectacular piece of seafloor topography that was absolutely teaming with cardinalfish. It was a very memorable dive with massive smiles across the board.

In the evening guests came on a Night Stalk and enjoyed the beautiful night sky. The constellations were easy to identify and the Milky Way was vividly clear. Around at the staff quarters green tree frogs were seen in a pool of water and were looking extremely cute. Guests then strolled back to the resort and enjoyed a glass of wine before slipping into a deep sleep ready for another big day tomorrow!
