Another AWESOME day here in tropical paradise. Calm, still waters and bright sunny skies made for perfect everything today!
Morning snorkelers aboard the glassbottom boat, discovered turtles everywhere! They were on the surface, under the boat and curious to see what these snorkelers were all about. They poked their heads up for those on the boat, and swam just below those snorkeling. One big Green turtle even made a show of crunching on some algae for all to observe.
Morning divers, including Project Manta and David Ireland were able to catch sight of some Manta Rays around the Lighthouse Bommies, cruising around and feeding on the algae in the water! Plenty of good filming and photos there!
Afternoon island discoverers found those beautiful Red-Tailed Tropic Birds sitting just inside the garden at the front of suite 3. There were two sitting about a metre apart and squawking at each other. Both were slightly pink, indicating breeding plumage. Hopefully we’ll have an egg soon.
Well, what kind of night ye call this???? It’s PIRATE night of course! All dressed up and giving their best piratey face, many enjoyed the “world-acclaimed” pirate party, kicking off with some coconut bowls. After joining into massive teams, both staff and guests competed in balloon relays, which proved a little difficult with so many people. To polish off an awesome night, a long line of Limbo players made their way under the stick, ending on the bendiest of the Project Manta group, Lydie.
Special Guests: Project Manta Team and David Ireland, and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority who visited today. |
