Sunny skies, cool water and a nice warm breeze, who can go wrong?
The first glassbottom boat was spoilt by Manta rays cruising around everywhere. Under the boat, beside the boat, alongside snorkelers, giving them perfect opportunities for Kodak moments.
The second boat was just as spoilt, but by whales. What appeared to be a log turned out to be a lone Humpback whale, sitting idly on the surface. Every now and then it decided to breath, giving observers a look at the spout of a whale, before simply diving down into deeper water. As the boat turned to head towards the snorkeling sight, TWO whales appeared on the surface to spout together. They continued to give a show of spouting and diving until they were out of sight. In the water, the melodic tunes of the whales could be identified when diving down.
Morning divers reported seeing a second Hammerhead shark, different to their usual friend “Boris” who they see regularly.
Afternoon Reef Rangers took a hunt around the island to find some treasure. Very rewarding because after watching the fish feed in the Fish Pool, and pointing out Nigel, the Silver Drummer and the Rabbitfish, all rangers found a token for a free ice cream. Yum!
Upon the nightstalk, two Green Tree frogs were spotted in the drain outside the staff houses, one a brilliant green and the other a darker brown colour. Many commented it was so pleasant at night walking across the island as it is “soooo quiet,” and the “stars are so bright”! Welcome to paradise! |
