Another day passes on this majestic island.
As per usual conditions were simply irresistible. Sighting of Manta Rays, Green Turtles, and schooling Trevally were some of the highlights seen whilst aboard the glass bottom boat. The guests were treated to some really up close and personal encounters with these guardians of the reef.
During the guided reef walks the usual suspects were observed; Sea Stars, Urchins and Christmas Tree Worms. On the journey back to the beach one of the guests sharply spotted a moray eel that was kind enough to join us for some of the journey back to shore.
Today was a very special day for all our bird lovers. There has been one new edition to the Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort family as a Red Tailed Tropic Bird hatched today, she has been named Goldie. Goldie was first discovered on one of our fantastic Island Discovery tours that are held daily.
As the season is slowly changing the whale migration is coming to a close just as the turtle mating is about to begin. Higher numbers are being seen around Lady Elliot Island by both divers and snorkelers as each day passes. The water temperature is holding steady at a beautiful 22oC and the visibility is absolutely amazing.
