The guest were treated to something very special this morning at breakfast. Two humpback whales. a mother and calf, just off the reef flat were kind enough to pass close by and pay our guests a visit. There were smiles all round as the whales cruised along and the orange juice flowed.
The guided reef walk today was a highly successful venture. We were fortunate enough to spot both species of Sea Hare, the Black-tailed and the Dolabella. All Sea Hares gain there complexion from the algae they predate upon. A bright red Pencil Slate Urchin was found on the way back only 2 metres from the beach which was a real treat for those on the tour.
Each Saturday an awesome themed party takes place. Tonight’s party was a pirate party. There were buccaneers as far as the eye could see. All the treasure was seized and still not recovered.
Special Events / Activities: Today sees the start of school holidays and our fantastic Reef Rangers program for children. Jess led the way this morning with a pirate themed day. All made their own pirate hats and in the afternoon participated in the coveted treasure hunt with Danielle.
