Even in wild weather Lady Elliot is a gem!
We loved Lady Elliot as kids, so my brother and I decided it was time to share it with our own boys. Mum & Dad jumped at the chance to join us and we flew into some rotten weather. Did it matter? Not on Lady Elliot! Our boys(4,5,6 & 8) LOVED every minute rain, hail and a tiny bit of shine! Within an hour of our arrival all four had mastered snorkelling and were off exploring the lagoon. They were thrilled with their discoveries! Vibrant blue Sea stars, sluggish sea cucumbers, anemones & clown fish, corals and cheeky stripeys had them wide eyed with wonder. Despite the weather we easily managed 3 or 4 snorkels every day, a bit of bird watching and some turtle tracking. We all enjoyed snorkels over the drop off at Lighthouse & Coral gardens when the conditions invited. Swimming with giant turtles through clouds of shimmering chromis was a highlight,as was diving down to scratch the back of the resident greenie. Lady Elliot's magic more than matched our memories. It's a fantastic family experience! The chance to see more, share hatchlings and mantas with our boys is sure to lure us back soon!
