Lady Elliot Island
Dear Graham,
We’ve recently returned from a three night stay on Lady Elliot Island and I felt it more than appropriate to write to you to thank you and your staff for making our little holiday a great success.
We had to save long and hard to stay over Christmas and were unlucky to arrive at the island at the same time as the effects of Cyclone Fina which managed to prevent us from doing anywhere near the amount of snorkeling and diving that we wanted. I strongly suspect that we only got to experience only a fraction of what Lady Elliot has to offer. Still, you can’t control nature and we had a great time which I think was largely due to the efforts and attitudes of you and your staff.
We really enjoyed the Christmas carols and as much as some of the staff seemed uncomfortable with the idea of getting up and singing, the fact that it was all a bit loose and not too over-produced made the night all the more enjoyable. Christmas Day itself was something that we’ll remember for a long time. I had grand plans of starting Christmas Day diving with my son and alas while the zero visibility put an end to that, the Christmas lunch was fantastic and again I think this was all due to the efforts of you and your staff. We really appreciate how difficult it must be for the staff of a resort such as Lady Elliot to be away from their own families at Christmas and then have to look after others, but the way your team approached Christmas Day was a real credit to you and to them. We had a terrific time.
From the ladies at reception, to the dive shop team, the fantastic turtle squad, the cleaners, the food and beverage team and others, the relaxed and very Australian approach to making guests feel welcome is what we really enjoy, so thank you.
We hope to be able to return to Lady Elliot soon and have a terrific, safe and fun 2012.
Sincerely
Andrew
