Paradise
If ever there was a place in the whole world worthy of the description "Paradise", then Lady Elliot Island is definitely it. Right from boarding the cute little plane on the mainland, we knew we were embarking on a once in a lifetime experience. There is surely no more spectacular place to experience the Great Barrier Reef - amongst friendly, relaxed and extremely knowledgable staff, diverse animal life, and probably the most stunning underwater enivronment in the whole of the reef! We came to the island mainly for a diving holiday, but were amazed by how much there is on offer other than diving (which is out of this world of course!). The sheer amount of unique dive sites, impressive coral formations and beautiful (and friendly!) marine animals is mind-blowing.
We have come away with the most incredible memories, and so much of that is down to all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable: Thanks so much, you do a wonderful job and the result is a massive credit to you all. One of the things I love most about the island is how relatively unspoilt and wild it is; the people in charge have clearly made efforts to prevent the island succumbing to the more negative effects of tourism. What a wonderful place - I honestly can't rave about it enough! I just want to say a special thank you to all those at the dive shop - particularly Aimee and Kym - the dives we went on with you guys were easily the best I have ever experienced. And to anyone else who is considering a holiday here: I guarantee this will be one of the best - if not THE best - holiday of your whole life. It will leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that such a place can actually exist. We'll definitely be back!
