One of the best trips we have ever made!
My husband and I visited Lady Elliot Island about 13 years ago and have never forgotten it. Our older daughter was a toddler of 2 then and since then we have had another daughter too. We came to the island with my brother and his family who were visiting us from USA. As my children grew up, I have always told them stories of the amazing reef, fish and turtles we saw there. My encounter with a turtle in the wild was first made here while snorkelling. It was truly an amazing experience that I never forgot. I remember thinking it wasn't easy to see who was more surprised .. the turtle or me! My older daughter's 16th birthday is coming up on the 20th of May and we decided to celebrate with a trip back to a place that we visited so briefly but made such an impact on us and is much loved. I had talked about this trip with my friends too over time and they ended up making a trip not so long ago. Their stories not only rekindled those memories of that fantastic visit all that time ago but it reminded me to make a trip that is long overdue! We will be travelling with my cousin and her new husband on a brief visit to us from the USA in May and so it is a double celebration of my daughter's 16th and taking family there to have an experience of a lifetime. I came to the website to look at making a booking for a visit and as I read the other testimonials, it brought back memories of our wonderful stay all those years ago. Sorry I haven't unearthed any photographs but just to let you know that we will always talk about Lady Elliot Island as one of the best trips we have ever made (and we are keen travellers!)
