BENEATH THE WAVES LADY ELLIOT ISLAND
My Wife, daughter and I flew to Lady Elliot Island to visit our youngest daughter who was on her Uni internship on the island. Being a Dive Master and avid underwater photgrapher I was ready, willing and able to get straight into the water. The staff in the dive shop were great, they explained the dive and issued the equipment and supervised my first dive on the wreck of the Severence. What an awsome experience to see this wreck with her aft mast still raising from the 20 odd metres to 18 meters below the surface of the waves. Reluctantly we swam away from the wreck toward the coral gardens and, well another first for me, my first encounter with a loggerhead turtle. The following dives with my youngest daughter were just as impressive with her showing me her office. We are back in June 2008.
