Turtles Galore!
On the last morning of our stay the 6 of us, who had been on the island for 4 days, started snorkelling at Coral Gardens and were immediately surrounded by turtles wanting their backs scratched. They shimmied up to us and waited patiently for us to 'dive and scratch' them. At one stage there were 4 turtles around us playing and frolicking in the water. During the next hour and a half we saw at least another half a dozen turtles, a shark (exciting!!!), a shovel nose ray and too many coloured fish to begin to count - including a HUGE spotted cod. It was soon time to board the plane so we ended our snorkelling at the lighthouse but alas the elusive manta rays weren't anywhere to be seen but we're looking forward to seeing them on our next trip....along with turtle hatchings hopefully!! Thanks LEI and especially Jess and Nick for a wonderful and memorable time. Cheers, Melinda
